Pandemics are something none of us have REALLY been effected by in our lifetime. Possibly our grandparents, but not us specifically. Sure there was SARS or Swine Flu, but they never actually attacked the USA (or the world) like COVID-19 has. Not only has our physical health been threatened, but our mental health has been impacted as well.
COVID-19 has kicked off such division in America it’s astounding. From bringing to light the systemic racism plaguing us, it has also turned every normal citizen into an epidemiologist. PhD from Facebook is one of the most common degrees handed out these days. From politics to healthcare, everyone is an expert these days. What ever happened to care and compassion? Empathy or sympathy? When did everyone become so short-sighted?
Have you heard of the saying, “We lost the battle, but we will win the war”? This quote has been said by countless leaders throughout history. It tells us to remember the big picture, that setbacks do NOT equate to failures. So many these days are focused on the battle, the short-term win/gain that they completely forget about the destination/jackpot.
Don’t miss out on the forest by getting lost in the trees. Focus on the war. Speedbumps are only there to slow you down, not stop you.
